Mr. Lebarron N. Mcwhorter

Mr. Mcwhorter is in his fifth year of teaching and his second year at Jonesboro High School. He is a graduate of S.S Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Alabama State University and is currently working on a Masters of Music Education degree from The University of Southern Mississippi

Mr. Mcwhorter began his career as Director of Bands at Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, Alabama. While there, his concerts bands consitently earned superior and excellent ratings at festival, and his marching bands performed throughtout the states of Alabama, Georgia, and Flordia. In 2009, his band was invited to perform in the "Disney Magic Music Days" parade in Orlando, Flordia. In just his second year at Jonesboro High School, Mr. Mcwhorter has taken his marching band to the Asymmetrix "National High Stepping Championship" in Charlotte, North Carolina, where they placed twelfth out of thirty bands and winning fourteen trophies in there division.
