Achievements
Under the direction of Mr. Lebarron Mcwhorter, the Jonesboro High School Band Programs has been able to accomplish many things. The list includes:
- Invite and participation in the 2010 Clayton County Battle of the Bands
- Excellent and Superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation for the Symphonic Band in 2011
- Invite and participation in 2011 Clayton County Spring Jamboree
- Invite and participation in the 2011 Atlanta Classic Parade
- First place divisional finish in the "Asymmetrix Southest Regional Battle of the Bands" hosted at Savannah State University in Savannah, GA
- Second place divisional finish in the "Asymmetrix National High School High Stepping Championship" hosted at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC
- Top twelve finalist in the "Asymmetrix National High School High Stepping Championship" hosted at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC
- Straight Superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation for the Symphonic Band in 2012
- Invite and participation in the 2012 "Spring Band Brawl Jamboree" hosted at Clark Atlanta Universty in Atlanta, GA
- Invite and participation in the 2012 "Viewer's Choice Battle of the Bands" host at Six Flags over Georgia in Austell, Ga
The Jonesboro High School Band has also participated in many community related events in the Jonesboro, GA area.
